Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh and the governor-elect of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano have visited the tomb of the former national leader of the party, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, at Nnewi.
Umeh, who led the delegation to the mausoleum of the late Ikemba Nnewi, stated that even in death, Dim Ojukwu remains APGA leader.
Umeh, standing at the grave side of Ojukwu said, “We came to tell you that we have killed an elephant again. We came to tell you that the party you left in our hand, we have propagated well.
“When I last came here sir, we told you that party has bounced back again, we assured you that we would be victorious if you accept to come with us. I came to present to you a man we took to Anambra battle and won. We are here in our number to tell you that we have won again”.
Umeh introduced the entourage to Ojukwu, all of whom took turns to salute the late Biafran warlord.
He reminded Ojukwu that the party had dedicated the victory of Obiano to him and would continue to work for the progress of the party.
Information Nigeria reports that APGA retained the governorship seat of Anambra following a keenly contested and highly controversial election which came to a climax last weekend with Obiano (APGA) defeating Tony Nwoye (PDP), Chris Ngige (APC) and Ifeanyi Ubah (LP) to second, third and fourth positions respectively to emerge winner.
