The hosts won one regular men’s single 7:5, 6:1, while Lagos Tennis Club won the other two regular men’s single 7:6, 6:2 and 7:5, 6:7, 6:4 respectively.
However, IBB Golf Club went on to win the veterans doubles 7:5, 6:4, before topping it with a hard-earned 7:6, 6:4 in the regular men’s double.

Assistant Captain of the Tennis section, Osi Agugwua said the tournament is an annual friendly event between the two Clubs.
He said the competition is meant to establish a relationship between Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.
“It’s [the tournament] wonderful. It brings people together. It doesn’t know about religion, it doesn’t know about tribe, it doesn’t know about ethnicity,” Mr. Agugwua noted.
He called on the government to create room for the private sector to come into the development of tennis in the country, stressing that Nigeria won’t get to a level where she can rank with top tennis countries in the world if the government continue monopolising the sports.
“Nigeria is so endowed with talented sports men and women and it is only when the private sector is allowed to come in that the platform can be created for their development.”
A trophy donated by First Bank was presented to the winners of the tournament.
