FAAN Spokesman Denies Bombing Of Maiduguri Airport In Boko Haram Attack

 

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said on Monday that the Dec. 2 attack in some parts of Maiduguri by suspected Boko Haram members did not affect the Maiduguri International Airport.

Mr Yakubu Dati, the Authority’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, said this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said that the attack only affected some areas around the vicinity of the airport.

“There was no bombing at the Maiduguri Airport, but it only happened around the airport vicinity.

The airport has been closed for flights, and relevant security situation are on the ground to take full charge”, the Dati said.

Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh and the governor-elect of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano have visited the tomb of the former national leader of the party, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, at Nnewi.

Umeh, who led the delegation to the mausoleum of the late Ikemba Nnewi, stated that even in death, Dim Ojukwu remains APGA leader.

Umeh, standing at the grave side of Ojukwu said, “We came to tell you that we have killed an elephant again. We came to tell you that the party you left in our hand, we have propagated well.

Boko Haram attacks Air Force Base & International Airport in Borno

According to news reports, the Composite Group Air Force Base in Maiduguri, the Maiduguri  International Airport and other places in Borno State were attacked in the early hours of this morning by gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram. The gunmen, said to be over 300, attacked with heavy artillery including Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers.

Gov Oshiomhole gives the widow he insulted N2m and employs her

Days after apologizing to the widow he told to 'go and die' (READ HERE) Gov Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has offered employment to the woman, now identified as Mrs Joy Ifije.

Aside from the job offer, Oshiomhole also gave the woman  N2million grant for her to get a shop and trade. The governor met with Mrs Ifije yesterday Sunday Dec. 1st at the Government House and offered her the job which is to join the State’s War Against Indiscipline in the campaign against street trading and to keep the state clean.

"When you put your things on the road a vehicle can run into you and they have killed some people like that and that was why I said if you are a widow do you want more people to be widowed? But when I said go and die, that one was said in a fit of anger. And I am really sorry”, Oshiomhole said.

If new reports are to be believed, then Elbits System, an Isreali Electronic Defence firm, has finally arrived Abuja to begin the installation of a $40million internet facility...which will spy on the people of Nigeria on behalf of the Nigerian government.

Premium Times reports that the internet monitoring company was contracted by the Federal Govt in April this year to install a comprehensive spying facility that will help them monitor its citizens.
